Summary (TL;DR)

  • We don't upload your files. Every tool runs in your browser.
  • We don't track what you do in tools. Your text, images, and documents stay on your device.
  • We use anonymized analytics. Aggregate page views, no personal identification.
  • We use non-personalized ads. Supported by display advertising that respects your privacy.
  • We comply with GDPR + CCPA. You have the right to ask what we know (essentially nothing).

1. What data we don't collect

When you use a tool on Toololis, the following never leaves your device:

  • Files you upload (PDFs, images, etc.)
  • Text you type or paste (JSON, passwords, notes)
  • Numbers you enter in calculators
  • QR codes, WiFi credentials, email drafts
  • Regex patterns, JWT tokens, hash inputs

All processing happens in-browser using JavaScript. We have no server that touches your content.

2. What we do collect (analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled. This collects aggregate data:

  • Page views (which tool pages are visited)
  • Country + region (not precise location)
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Browser + OS
  • Referrer (where you came from)
  • Session duration + pages per session

Data is retained for 14 months and used only to understand tool usage and improve the site. We do not sell analytics data.

3. Advertising

Toololis is supported by display advertising via Google AdSense (pending approval). Ads may:

  • Be personalized based on your browsing (Google uses its ad cookies)
  • Be non-personalized (contextual to Toololis content)

You can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ad Settings.

4. Cookies

  • Essential (always): Theme preference (dark/light mode) stored locally. No cookies used.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics sets a _ga cookie (1-year expiry) to distinguish unique users. Anonymized.
  • Advertising: Google AdSense cookies (if ads are shown). You can clear these anytime.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

If you're in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request what data we hold about you (it's minimal — aggregate analytics).
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your data.
  • Object: Refuse analytics or personalized ads.
  • Portability: Request your data in a readable format.

6. Third-party services

  • Cloudflare Pages — hosting. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP, user-agent) for 7 days for security. Cloudflare Privacy.
  • Google Analytics 4 — analytics. Google Privacy.
  • Google AdSense — advertising (pending). Google Privacy.
  • Open Exchange Rates — used only by the Currency Converter tool to fetch live rates. Only the currency pair is sent, not your amount.

7. Children

Toololis is a general-purpose utility site. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for 30 days. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
